Direction, Distraction, and the irreversible currency of time.

If you could ask God for just one thing today, what would it be?
What do your prayers say about what you value most in life?
Last night I was reflecting on my life and I thought to myself that God has been so consistent in building me, pruning me everyday but what's that one thing I need to ask him? Should I ask for directions? Should I ask him to make me understand what's distracting me? That's when these two words, direction and distraction stood in my mind.
When distraction feels like direction
A sudden thought hit me. Evangelin, don't you think that even the distractions can give you direction? I felt so scared thinking about that.
Imagine spending half of your life following the path that you shouldn't be doing. Even if you realize that it's a wrong path and try to return or change your track, you cannot become all that you were meant to become, fully. There's only another half life left. What can be done in a full life is not as much as it can be done in the half life. I'm speaking about time. Getting on the right track again cannot help you with restoring the time that was lost.
I'm not saying that there's no restoration. I'm mentioning time. Even if there's a restoration of time, it cannot be 100%
The irreversible currency of time
That's why they say, return to the right track as soon as possible. It's not about the path. It's about time. You can pay nothing to bring back the time.
Easily we convince our mind that it's okay to stay distracted, it's fine to get on the wrong track and return, it's a lesson and so on. We are not concerned about time and as long as you aren't concerned about time, you cannot follow any path successfully.
The loop of distraction
The path of distraction is very pleasing at the start. You actually feel more motivated in the path of distraction to do the tasks more than you do while on the right track. It will be fun but you are becoming blind to understand that it ain't a straight road, it's actually a loop. Which makes returning much difficult thus costing more of your time. That's when returning seems impossible and people give up.
Giving up isn't a weakness, it's a loop.
The direction of distraction masks the enjoyment. Real enjoyment can only be found on the right road. If you feel more burdened and not feeling like enjoying your day, then it may also mean you're on the wrong road. Take a check on it. Time is more valuable than you know.

So, what should you ask for?
The most powerful prayer that is mentioned in the bible is this, Lord, teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
If I have to answer the questions that I have mentioned in the beginning, then I'll be definitely asking God to teach me to count the number of my days so that I don't take the days of my life for granted.
What is your answer?

Remember, distraction doesn't just waste your time --it convinces you you're not wasting time.
Thank you

Elucidating about the distraction at its best.
